GDE workshop in Hanoi

ATMEA together with AREVA and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) held a workshop with General Department of Energy (GDE) on July 1, 2015 in Hanoi aiming at delivering to Vietnamese key organizations the ATMEA1’s competitiveness in design, construction, and operation. The workshop also offered the opportunity to update Vietnamese stakeholders on the Sinop progress, which has made significant progress since the beginning of the year, in particular with the positive vote of the Turkish parliament on the Host government Agreement.

ATMEA presented their progress in design and projects such as successful completion of the Generic Detailed Design phase in April, 2015, and highlighted construction technologies accumulated both in AREVA and MHI and advantages in operational performance of ATMEA1, which benefit Vietnamese coming project.

There were a lot of participants from General Department of Energy (GDE), Ministry of Finance (MOF), Ministry of Defense (MOD), Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), Ministry of Public Security (MPS), Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), Ministry of Construction (MOC), Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety (VARANS), EVN, Institute of Energy (IE), etc. There were a lot of fruitful discussions during the workshop.

Mr. Goebel, President & CEO of ATMEA, reminded during the seminar that ATMEA1 is supported by Japanese and French governments especially because of its safety features that are important also for public acceptance. He highlighted that ATMEA1 team is ready to work with Vietnamese.
